Sept. 11  “Journey to a Holy Land” Pastor Blake Scalet will share with us about his summer travels to Israel and Palestine.

Sept. 24  Deacon Linda Walker will share about her visit to the Lutheran World Federation Assembly and trip to Namibia to build relationships with the Lutherans there.

Oct. 8  Dr. Ryan Cumming, director of Hunger Education for ELCA World Hunger, will speak about the important work to fight hunger nationally and globally.

Nov. 19  The Rev. Bruce Davidson will continue his presentation about human sexuality “The Church’s Changing Views on Sexuality, Part 2.”

Dec. 17  Katie Sharpe will speak about the “Opioid Crisis in NJ” from her work in addiction recovery and substance abuse in jail settings.

Jan. 14  The Rev. Kimberly Vaughn, Assistant to the Bishop for Multicultural Ministry, will speak to us about the life-giving work of inclusion and the blessing of diversity.

Feb. 4  Budget Forum-The Administration and Finance Committee will present the 2018 proposed Ministry Spending Plan for review, questions, and comments.

“Together By Grace” Adult Class

We will be reading and discussing sections of the new book Together By Grace: Introducing the Lutherans on Sunday mornings at 9AM. Sections will be lead by the pastors, intermittently; look at the calendar for specific dates. Books are available in the church office. Feel free to drop in when you can and whether or not you have read the book.

Dialogues on Race

St. John’s in collaboration with the Summit Interfaith Council will be hosting a round of Dialogues on Race the Tuesdays in October from 7 to 9PM in the Chapel.
