Saint John’s Music Ministry

Music holds an integral place within the liturgy: It unifies and heightens our communal prayer and offers an opportunity to lift our voices and spirits together in ways that words alone cannot express. In the Lutheran tradition, music is not seen as an ornament or flourish to the liturgy but is essential in proclaiming the Word of God.

We seek to create an inclusive space for everyone in the congregation to participate in our collective ministry of music through their own unique gifts and talents, whether in a choir or ensemble, or from the pew as a member of the assembly. Above all, we use music to glorify God together.

“Next to the Word of God, the noble art of music
is the greatest treasure in the world.”
—Martin Luther
