Consecration Sunday is October 24. On this day we will dedicate our 2022 Financial Pledges. You are invited to a Consecration Brunch at 9:00 AM hosted by the Stewardship Committee. Please plan to be in worship that day, at the brunch, and prayerfully consider how God is calling you to use your resources for the mission and ministry of the church.

College Care Packages: The Caring Cards & Calls Committee is looking for donations of $10 gift cards to Dunkin’ Donuts or Starbucks to send in care packages to our college students. Cards can be placed in the envelope marked College Gift Cards in the office by October 31. If you have a college student, please send mailing addresses to Jama Bowman at jama.b@comcast.net to make sure they get a care package!

Remembrance of the Faithful Departed: Each year on All Saints Day we remember those who have died in the past year and you are invited to submit names of any loved ones or friends who have died in the past year. For more information or to submit a name please email Pastor Blake. Names must be submitted by October 31.

Market Street Mission Coat Giveaway: Donations of coats, hats, scarves or gloves for men, women, and children, may be brought to St. John’s by October 31.

All Saints Sunday, November 7: Along with our celebration liturgy on this day, we will have a luncheon following the 10:30 service. The church is providing the main meal. Please sign up in the rear entry to let us know you are attending and to bring a side salad or dessert to share.

Jehu Jones Bishop Challenge: Every congregation has been challenged to help the NJ Synod raise $50,000 to support the lives of emerging leaders of African descent in our church today; Our council has set our goal at $3,750 by the end of 2021 and the Anti-Racism Committee will match our goal dollar for dollar. Please make donations to St. John’s, memo “Jehu Jones.”

Appalachia Service Project (ASP) 2022! We have requested the week of July 3–9, 2022 in either West Virginia or Virginia. We are currently looking for teens and college students to participate. Youth volunteers must be at least 13 years old and have graduated 8th grade by the time of the trip. Please email Laura Snyder for more information or to sign up your child. Visit ASP’s website to learn more about this organization that strives to make homes warmer, safer, and drier for Appalachian families!
