Rally for Social Ministry UPDATE: We are THRILLED to announce that our collection for five local aid organizations brought in $15,000!! This is triple our original goal of $5,000, allowing us  to donate $3,000 per organization! THANK YOU to the generous people of St. John’s!

LSMNJ Backpack Collection! LSMNJ will once again supply students in our affordable housing with school supplies. You may either donate funds to St. John’s by TODAY, and we will send the combined contributions to LSMNJ Education Fund to buy needed school items, or you can purchase items on your own and ship/deliver directly to the LSMNJ Burlington office at 3 Manhattan Drive, Burlington, NJ 08016 (Monday–Friday only) by AUGUST 20. A list of needed items can be found in the narthex.

Outdoor Movie Nights: St. John’s Social Ministry & Social Justice committee have two outdoor movie nights planned at St. John’s, where we’ll gather outside the church to watch social justice-themed movies beneath the stars! We’ll begin on Saturday, August 28 at 7:00 PM to watch David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet. Screening will begin at about 7:30, and we’ll have popcorn as well. After the movie, we’ll discuss the issues addressed in the film. Our second movie night will be on Saturday, September 11 at 7:00 PM. Hope to see you there!

Summer Reading: The Anti-Racism Committee has two recommendations for your summer reading list, both of which will be discussed in the fall. The Color of Law by Richard Rothstein and The Warmth of Other Suns by Isabel Wilkerson. Books will be available in the office for $10.

Giving Is Important. We count on your generous offerings to continue to do our robust ministry. Please give generously. You may give online or mail checks to the church.
