Please welcome our guest pastor today, The Rev. Arden Krych.

Our Nursery TODAY will be in the Adult Lounge due to our new tile installation

Pastoral Emergencies: Pastor Blake will be on vacation from August 9–22. In the event of a pastoral emergency, please contact Andrew Larsen, Council President, or the church office.

Outdoor Movie Nights: St. John’s Social Ministry & Social Justice committee have two outdoor movie nights planned at St. John’s, where we’ll gather outside the church to watch social justice-themed movies beneath the stars! We’ll begin on Saturday, August 28 at 7:00 PM to watch David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet. Screening will begin at about 7:30, and we’ll have popcorn as well. After the movie, we’ll discuss the issues addressed in the film. Our second movie night will be on Saturday, September 11 at 7:00 PM. Hope to see you there!

Blessing of Backpacks & Briefcases, Sunday, September 5 at the 8:00 AM & 10:30 AM worship service. Bring your backpack or briefcase to church and receive a blessing tag and a prayer as we return to work and school.

Upcoming Music Ensemble Rehearsals: Adult Choir: Wednesday., September 15, 7:45 PM, Lutherringers: Sunday, September 26, 12:00 PM, Recorder Ensemble: Wednesday, September 29, 7:00 PM. Specific rehearsal locations in the church to be announced closer to the above dates. Please join us!

Save the Date for St. John’s Rally Day/Homecoming, September 19. Help us kick off the new church year and properly celebrate Pastor Moore’s retirement with a festive meal following the 10:30 AM service. Don’t miss this opportunity for fellowship and fun!

Summer Reading: The Anti-Racism Committee has two recommendations for your summer reading list, both of which will be discussed in the fall. The Color of Law by Richard Rothstein and The Warmth of Other Suns by Isabel Wilkerson. Books will be available in the office for $10.

Giving Is Important. We count on your generous offerings to continue to do our robust ministry. Please give generously. You may give online or mail checks to the church.
