LSMNJ will once again supply students in our affordable housing with school supplies. You may either donate funds to St. John’s by TODAY, and we will send the combined contributions to LSMNJ Education Fund to buy needed school items, or you can purchase items on your own and ship/deliver directly to the LSMNJ Burlington office at 3 Manhattan Drive, Burlington, NJ 08016 (Monday–Friday only) by AUGUST 20. A list of needed items can be found in the narthex.

Outdoor Movie Nights: St. John’s Social Ministry & Social Justice committee have two outdoor movie nights planned at St. John’s, where we’ll gather outside the church to watch social justice-themed movies beneath the stars! We’ll begin on Saturday, August 28 at 7:00 PM to watch David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet. Screening will begin at about 7:30, and we’ll have popcorn as well. After the movie, we’ll discuss the issues addressed in the film. Our second movie night will be on Saturday, September 11 at 7:00 PM. Hope to see you there!

Lace for Love Pop-Up Sale, TODAY: Member Paula Cerdas has started a non-profit, Lace for Love, which collects donated wedding gowns and sells them at a discount to new brides. The profits from the sale of the dresses goes to local hunger relief programs like Table to Table. Stop by Hinman Hall to learn more about her new venture.

Rally for Social Ministry: Help us support five of St. John’s hunger and housing ministry partners. Beginning TODAY for five weeks, we will raise at least $1,000, supporting a different group each week. If the total goal of $5,000 is raised, the committee will make a $500 donation. There will be a celebration rally after the 5:00 PM service on June 27 with music, dancing, fellowship, sandwich-making for Bridges, and a food drive. Altar Flowers: With worship returning to the sanctuary on June 6, altar flowers will resume! Please sign up in the rear entry. The weekly flower cost to the church is $80. Please give as you are able, online or with a check.

Bridges Outreach is currently doing runs into Newark seven days a week. The need is very great. They are happy to receive donations of lunches daily from 8:30–4:30. Lunches need to be taken to the Bridges office, call 908-273-0176 to inform them you are bringing lunches.
